Service & Annual Tune-up

Denver AC Maintenance & Service

Central air conditioning systems are complex mechanical equipment that need regular service, just like your car. Scheduling an annual tune-up keeps your cooling system running efficiently and reliably. A professional inspection catches weak capacitors, slow refrigerant leaks, and dirty coils before they cause a breakdown during peak summer heat.

Don't break the bank

Denver AC Maintenance Cost

Our standard air conditioning tune-up in Denver, priced at $249 before discounts, includes a complete inspection and cleaning of your cooling system. The technician will inspect and clean the outdoor condenser, check refrigerant levels and pressures, test capacitor and contactor performance, verify electrical connections, and run the system through a full performance cycle. The goal is to catch small problems - a weak capacitor, a slow refrigerant leak, a failing contactor - before they cause a breakdown during a 95-degree week. If the inspection reveals a problem that needs repair, we'll provide options and pricing on the spot.

I was so pleasantly surprised by how amazing my experience was with UniColorado. Thorough, honest, and personable, this company gets it. They’ve earned my business for as long as I live in Denver, and I’d like to thank them again for their great work servicing our outdoor A/C units.

The second time this company has been out to fix something going on with our HVAC. They've really done a great job correcting issues caused by the original home builder and explaining things in detail. I won't call anyone else for our HVAC needs. 10/10 would recommend!

Dirty outdoor AC unit

What's included?

What does AC maintenance include?

A thorough service visit covers these key areas: Condenser cleaning - the outdoor unit coils, fins, and fan are cleaned of dirt, cottonwood seeds, and debris that restrict airflow. Electrical inspection - connections are tightened and tested, capacitor performance is measured, and contactor condition is checked. Refrigerant check - pressures are measured to confirm correct charge levels; if low, a leak evaluation is performed before adding refrigerant. Moving parts - the blower motor and condenser fan motor are tested and lubricated as needed. Condensate drain - cleared to prevent water damage and humidity issues. Indoor coil inspection - the evaporator coil is checked for ice buildup or dirt; deep indoor coil cleaning is available as an add-on if needed. Performance test - the system is run through a full cooling cycle and temperature split is measured to verify proper operation.

Is AC Maintenance Necessary?

Annual Air Conditioning Maintenance

For most Denver homes, annual service before summer (April or May) is the sweet spot. The two most important things you can do as a homeowner: change your air filters every 30-60 days, and schedule a professional tune-up each spring. A neglected system doesn't just lose efficiency - it's more likely to fail during peak heat, when every HVAC company in Denver is booked out. Annual service helps lower energy costs, prevent breakdowns, extend equipment lifespan, and maintain your manufacturer warranty. If your system is 12+ years old and showing signs of declining performance, a tune-up is also a good time to discuss whether replacing an aging AC or upgrading to a heat pump makes sense for your home.
