Xcel's rebate
went poof.
We caught some of it.
On October 1, Xcel cut its heat pump bonus by 33%, and its program terms let it change or end the rest at any time. For estimates issued and signed by October 20, UniColorado is matching a portion of what disappeared.

A note from the shop
If you were planning a heat pump this fall, the first of October was not the news you wanted. Xcel's cold climate rebate went from $2,250 to $1,500 a heating ton, and the heat pump water heater rebate from $2,250 to $1,500. Plenty of you heard about it halfway through planning, with a quote in hand.
We didn't want to just pass that along. An arrangement with our suppliers on equipment already on our shelves lets us cover part of the cut, for eligible homeowners who sign by the twentieth.
This may not be the last cut.
Xcel made this one to stay inside its approved budget, and its own terms say the rebates can be changed or cancelled at any time, first come, first served, until the money runs out. Nobody outside Xcel knows when that is.
If your furnace or AC is getting up there, this is the window. Between Xcel, the state tax credit and Power Ahead Colorado, a high-end cold climate heat pump still comes in close to what a basic AC and furnace would cost you. Wait for the old one to quit in January, and you may be buying at whatever the rebates are by then.
We've been a family-owned Denver shop since 2014, and we've filed more than 5,000 rebate applications along the way. We know these programs about as well as anyone. We also know a heat pump is one of the bigger checks a household writes, and that a rule change in the middle of it stings. Your trust is what keeps this place running. This is us saying thank you.
