About Us

Your Local Littleton HVAC Experts

At UniColorado Heating & Cooling, our commitment to Littleton is as strong as our dedication to our home base in Denver. From the very beginning, Littleton has been an integral part of our story. In fact, our first ever AC installation under the UniColorado umbrella took place right here in this wonderful community. We are proud to say that Littleton has been with us every step of the way, from our early days as a fledgling company to our current position as a leader in AC installation, furnace installation, and heat pump installation. The trust and support of Littleton residents have been instrumental in our growth and success.

HVAC Challenges in the Foothills

5,350 ft elevation
  • Combating Chinook Wind Temperature Swings: When temperatures drop from 60°F to 15°F in four hours, single-stage furnaces struggle to catch up. We highly recommend two-stage or variable-capacity systems that can ramp up instantly to battle rapid heat loss.

  • Historic Main Street Retrofits: Pre-1940s homes in downtown Littleton often rely on radiant heat or lack ductwork entirely. We are experts in retrofitting Mitsubishi Hyper-Heating mini-splits that provide precise, room-by-room comfort without destroying historic plaster walls.

  • Navigating Tri-County Permitting: Littleton sits at the complex intersection of Arapahoe, Douglas, and Jefferson counties. We hold active master licenses in all three jurisdictions and handle the entire permitting and inspection process seamlessly.

  • Crawl Space Clearances in Older Ranches: Ranches built in the 50s and 60s often have tight crawl spaces that make running new refrigerant lines incredibly difficult. Our installation teams pre-plan these routes during the estimate to ensure zero surprise costs on install day.

Local History

The Story of Littleton

Littleton, a municipality located across Arapahoe, Douglas, and Jefferson Counties, saw humble beginnings in 1859 as the Pikes Peak Gold Rush drew gold-seekers, merchants, and farmers alike to the West. As the promise of gold continued to attract opportunity-seekers, the city of Denver grew, necessitating the construction of a series of ditches to transport water to farms and businesses without ready access to rivers and creeks. Richard Sullivan Little, an accomplished engineer, surveyor, and violinist, made his way to Colorado to engineer this system. In the process, Richard found promise in an area several miles south of Denver, bringing out his wife and beginning to farm. By 1867, Richard and a group of neighbors built the Rough and Ready Flour Mill and by the time the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad reached the area in 1871 and the area further developed as Colorado achieved statehood in 1876, settlers began traveling in droves. In 1890, with 245 residents officially settled, the area was formally voted to be incorporated as the Town of Littleton. In the present day, Littleton is known for its turn-of-the-century buildings, cozy eateries, and antique shops. Visitors and locals alike can enjoy the sprawling Chatfield State Park, Main Street with a variety of galleries featuring local artists, the Littleton Museum with its 19th century farm, and community theater and music at the Town Hall Arts Center.
