BeforeWe Show Up

The Work You Don't See

Once your system is approved, we consolidate all equipment, parts, and components. Everything is stored at our Evans or Centennial warehouse until install day. Techs and helpers are assigned one to two weeks in advance.

The day before your install, equipment is loaded and staged. Components go through their first QC check at the warehouse - we look for shipping damage, verify model numbers, and confirm every part matches the job specs.

Ordered & tracked

Equipment ETAs tracked daily until everything arrives at our warehouse.

Staged day-before

Loaded and consolidated the night before install day.

Crew assigned early

Techs and helpers assigned 1-2 weeks ahead of your install date.

First QC at warehouse

Checked for dings, wrong parts, and spec mismatches at the warehouse.

InstallationDay

What Happens When We Arrive

A standard replacement takes one full day. Heat pump and mini-split installs can run 1-2 days.

1

Equipment staged

The day before, equipment is consolidated and loaded at our Evans or Centennial warehouse. Second component QC check for dings and damage.

2

Crew briefing at 7 AM

Techs and helpers start their day at 7 AM. Equipment is loaded, missing parts procured, and the team meets before heading out.

3

Notification sent

You get a notification when the crew is on the way.

4

Homeowner walkthrough

We walk through the job with you before starting. Longer walkthrough for mini-split installs where indoor unit placement matters. Questions and concerns are handled here.

5

Prep and protection

Tarps laid down, work area prepped. Disassembly of the old system begins.

6

On-site component QC

Components get inspected again on-site - shipping damage, correct model numbers, matching specs. This is the second QC check.

7

Installation

Install, flashing, pressure tests, and lineset cleaning from inside out for replacements. This is the bulk of the day.

8

System commissioning

45 minutes to 3 hours depending on system type. Airflow, refrigerant charge, noise levels, static pressure, temperature delta, and thermostat programming. For mini-splits, we measure output and superheat on the condenser side.

9

Full function test and handover

All modes tested. Thermostat walkthrough. Handover runs 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on the system and how many questions you have.

County-level climate data

Heating degree days, design temperatures, and solar gain specific to your county.

On-site measurements

Window area, insulation levels, orientation, and air sealing measured on-site.

LiDAR iPad software

3D scan of your home for precise square footage and room volumes.

Manual JEvery Job

No Rule-of-Thumb Sizing

We run a Manual J load calculation on every install, regardless of system type or job complexity.

Square-footage rules don't account for Denver's altitude, dry air, or intense UV exposure. An oversized system short-cycles, wastes energy, and wears out faster. An undersized one can't keep up on the coldest nights. The load calculation tells us exactly what your home needs.

For rebate purposes, proper sizing also determines which tier your system qualifies for. A cold-climate heat pump measured at 5°F (heating tons) qualifies for $2,250/ton from Xcel, while a standard unit measured at 95°F (cooling tons) only gets $900/ton.

SystemCommissioning

What We Actually Check

Commissioning takes 45 minutes to 3 hours depending on system complexity. It's the longest part of the day besides the physical install. Here's what we verify.

Airflow

CFM measurements across all registers and returns

Refrigerant charge

Precise charge verified against manufacturer specs

Noise levels

Indoor and outdoor unit decibel check at operating speed

Static pressure

Duct system pressure drop within design limits

Temperature delta

Supply vs return air temperature differential verified

Thermostat programming

Schedules, switchover points, and all modes configured

For mini-splits: We also measure output and superheat on the condenser side. Ductless systems have different commissioning requirements than ducted central equipment, and we adjust the process accordingly.
